QA Group

Quality assurance for training is systematically implemented by the structure that designs and implements the degree programs under the supervision of the Coordinator, who oversees and is responsible for the preparation of the annual monitoring report. To prepare this report, the Degree Program Council has appointed a Quality Assurance Group, composed of the following:
Professor Brunella Bonaccorso (Degree Program Coordinator)
Professor Dario De Domenico (Degree Program Instructor)
Professor Giuseppe Di Filippo (Degree Program Instructor)
Mr. Rosaria Greco (Technical and Administrative Staff Representative)
Mr. Daniele Quintino Addea (Student Representative).

The QA Group is responsible for the following activities:
- reviewing reports from the Evaluation Committee and the Joint Teacher-Student Committee, for the part concerning the Degree Programme;
- monitoring teaching data (entrance tests, attractiveness of the program, regularity of exam results, internationalization, teacher evaluation, agreements and internships, orientation, etc.) and student support services;
- supporting the Coordinator in analyzing the Degree Programme's performance indicators and compiling the SMA and SUACdS;
- identifying the Degree Programme's strengths and weaknesses and the resulting improvement actions, and verifying the achievement of objectives;
- cyclical review of the Degree Programme;
- planning and management of the Degree Programme.

The student representative is responsible for promptly reporting any concerns from colleagues and for organizing periodic meetings to gather widespread opinions.

The QA Group meets regularly at the beginning of the first semester (September), at the end of the first semester (January), and at the end of the second semester (May) to listen to student analyses. A meeting is scheduled to coincide with the release of the results of the curricular and faculty evaluation tests, in order to prepare the QA Group's activities for data collection and subsequent analysis. Group meetings are also scheduled whenever any issues are raised by one of its members at a Course Council meeting.
The completed monitoring report is discussed by the Course Council for approval and forwarded to the relevant bodies for further action.
The QA Group also reviews the SUA report, gathering all information regarding the course structure and activities, and organizing the work according to the established deadlines.

The Coordinator (Head of Quality Assurance for the Degree Course) also has the opportunity to share the problems, actions and results of the quality assurance process with the other Coordinators during meetings within the Teaching Observatory of the Department of Engineering, composed of the Coordinators of all the related Degree Courses.

The Department of Engineering has a Quality Assurance Officer who coordinates the above-mentioned activities. A Joint Teaching Committee, composed of faculty and students, has also been established at the Department level. Its membership is listed at the following link (https://ingegneria.unime.it/it/dipartimento/organizzazione/commissione-paritetica). The Joint Teaching Committee monitors the curriculum and the quality of teaching, as well as student services, formulating improvement proposals to the Degree Courses and Department Councils. It disseminates quality policies to students and proposes indicators for teaching evaluation. It prepares an annual report on the quality of teaching for all degree programs within the Department of Engineering, thus supporting the Degree Program in the Quality Assurance process.
